In 2014 I had the privilege of taking a week long improv course in Chicago with TJ Jagodowski, Susan Messing, Jimmy Carrane, Jay Sukow and Rich Sohn. What an amazing week that was!
All of the instructors were wonderful but especially Jay Sukow. He is one of those rare performers that not only has incredible experience but he loves to teach and is fantastic at it. We talked about bringing him to FCI and as soon as he moved to LA this past year we got him scheduled.
Jay is going to help us reignite our joy and get us “out of our heads”. You’ll leave the workshop with specific, personalized notes on the areas in which you excel at and areas which you need improvement. That is exactly what he did for me in Chicago in 2014.
Meet Jay Sukow
Jay has been performing with and without a script for the over 20 years. Jay trained with Dick Schaal, Del Close, Mick Napier, and many other great improvisers. Before his recent move to Los Angeles, Jay was a faculty member of The Second City, where he performed regularly as part of their “Those Who Can’t” Faculty Jam. He has also taught at iO Chicago, ComedySportz Chicago and several festivals including The Chicago Improv Festival and The Phoenix Long Form Improv Festival. He has been a guest performer at Boom Chicago, the Second City, the Second City ETC, the Second City Northwest and Messing with a Friend. Listen to his interviews on Improv Nerd with Jimmy Carrane and ADD Comedy with Dave Razowsky.
Join me for a day of awesome improv with a wonderful instructor! We will start at 10am and break for a one-hour lunch.
“As a teacher, Jay’s experience and enthusiasm will turn anyone into a lifelong improv devotee, whether they’re an actor, a novice, a teen, or work in the corporate sector. I consider anyone lucky who gets to learn improv from Jay Sukow!” – CRAIG CACKOWSKI
