On Saturday, September 15th, visiting FCI from LA is the musical team Robot Teammate. They are not only performing, but they’re offering a 4-hour Intensive Musical Improv Workshop! Take this opportunity to learn from true masters and the 2016 SDIC “Best of the Fest” winners!

In Robot Teammate’s 4-hour intensive, students will learn the tools to create one-of-a-kind characters audiences will remember long after the curtain closes. Taking inspiration from their original narrative structure, the Robots will challenge you to tell nuanced and hilarious stories through lyrics, physicality, and form. Whether you’re the narrator, villain, sidekick or star, this workshop will help you know your role in delivering a rewarding conclusion with confidence!

About the Class: Open to all musical improv levels. Must have taken at least level 2 improv to join. $65 early bird until September 5th. $75 full price. Class runs September 15th from 1-5pm.

About the Team: ROBOT TEAMMATE is a musical comedy collective based in LA. Founded in 2012, the rag tag group of improvisers initially made a name for themselves with a world record-setting 86 week streak in an iO West cage match. As they honed their signature one-hour improvised musical form and developed an extensive cache of musical short-form games, they were invited to gig at UCB, Westside Comedy, LA ComicCon, and festivals across the country. In 2016, Legendary Digital Network brought the Robots worldwide, broadcasting weekly interactive musical improv shows on their Geek & Sundry Twitch.TV channel. The Robot’s affinity for sci-fi/fantasy and pop culture references, mixed with catchy, heartfelt, and sometimes truly beautiful improvised songs, cemented their fans as the #Hypemate community. The Robot Teammates also write together. Inspired by their favorite improvisations, the collaborating machines scripted three awarding-winning full-length musical comedies, forming “The T Trilogy”: TIMEHEART, THUG TUNNEL, andTURBULENCE! Premiering to sold-out audiences at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, the troupe earned recognition for their songwriting from A Little New Music, and took home the Best Musical, Best World Premiere, and Critics Choice Awards. They released the THUG TUNNEL Cast Album in early 2017 and finished off the year Off-Broadway, presenting TURBULENCE! to enthusiastic audiences at SoHo Playhouse, NYC. Ensemble members Chris Bramante, Molly Dworsky, Branson NeJame, Kat Primeau, and Dave Reynolds aspire to inspire and entertain through laughter and music.
