This week, we took the time to reflect on 2016 and share some of our favorite moments, events and accomplishments of 2016! Although we live in the moment on stage, it is so encouraging to look back and enjoy what we accomplished before looking forward and saying, “Yes! And…” let’s keep creating!

Here are our top 16 “most awesome moments”!

(not really moments but it has a great ring to it)

• Taylor Elliott joined our staff and has made everyone’s visit to the theater extra special every time! We love you Taylor!



• We premiered our new show “A Single Lady“ and (almost) found true love for 8 brave ladies! We are still having so much fun with this show!!!



• A group of 11 sketch students, under the direction of Amy Lisewski, created Netflix and Kill, a sketch revue that audiences loved and so did we! We were so inspired we decided to make sketch a bigger part of 2017 than ever before!

• We reminded our friends that, “Yes, we’re open!“ 🙂  with our special Sunday night open house nights where any team or show can perform.  This night grows each month and this community is so awesome!



• “It’s F*#king Christmas, Again!” was a big hit and super fun – AGAIN! – Accomplishment = once again able to laugh through the holidays. Check out these fun pictures.



• We welcomed three new teachers aboard – Nikki, Brandon, and Kendall – and enjoyed workshops and shows from 18 visiting artists including Pam Victor, Jay Sukow, Ithamar Enriquez, “Dummy”, and “Jetzo”! Learning all the time and getting to see amazing shows like “Ithamar Has Nothing To Say“!



• We saw so many great new teams form and play regularly like Shermer High, Sinister M.O., Scoop Scoop, Beserkus, NES, Sweet Puppy, We Krooked Swedes, Til Death, Passenger, Greg Hess Hair, Aunt & Uncle and Julius! Thursday nights are full of awesome teams and the new weekly CAGE MATCH is the place to show them your love!



• Over 250 new students joined us for Level 1 this year and 82 students graduated from Level 5!    

• Graduated our very first Conservatory class! Congrats again to Page, Ron, Kevin, Nancy, Marc, Nixon, Clara, and Suzie! Looking forward to our 2017 group that starts in February.



• We also get to bring improv to all sorts of great companies and events.  Some of our favorites this year were The Museum of Man’s Olympic themed event, teaching at an awesome company retreat in Sedona, AZ, becoming a regular part of WD-40‘s Leadership Lab, sold out Brew School’d and Improv shows at Greenflash Brewery, and team-building training for SD Trading Company. We were even written about in Entrepreneur Magazine!



• Amy published her book “Relax, We’re All Just Making This Stuff Up!” and has enjoyed spreading the work about improv on tv, radio, and at many events. She is now booked almost every month to speak at various events and leadership development groups!

• Kat and Amy were honored to be presenters at the SD Film Awards.  Glamour!!!



• Did you see us on national TV?!  Kat, Kasey, Jewell, and Jesse represented FCI on an episode of The Letter!



• We’ve got lots of pride for PRIDE and once again had a great showing from the FCI community for the parade.  We also raised $1,000 for The Center.



• Speechless!  Who would have thought we’d have so much fun making up Power Point presentations on Saturday nights?!  Stay tuned for what is next for this show.  Hayden Harrower is our current champ and I know he’s looking for a challenger!

Lip Synch Battles!!!  Two awesome nights of absolute … ummm…. talent.  Should we do battle again this year?!
