Jon Wright is a quiet force, but a natural on the stage! He is consistently impressive with his comedic timing and dry wit. He is also one of our newest ensemble members on team Willis! This is…Jon Wright! Jon has lived in San Diego his whole life. He is a graduate from San Diego State university with a degree in communication. After college, he worked for Turning Point Nutrition and Probrew Coffee in their marketing department creating content for various media networks. Outside of improv, he loves the Beach, which is why he currently works at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club planning events. Baseball and skateboarding are near and dear to his heart because he grew up doing both. When he’s not doing improv, he’s probably at the Gun Range, planning for Comic Con, drunk ghost hunting or with his dog, Jake. If he could, he would be a Professional competitive Food Eater! In His Words: All right, well I’m Jon Wright. I’m a student at FCI and I love improv because it just allows me to like fail and learn from the failure, which I can take out into life and continue to fail. [We played 5 things with Jon Wright] I go to comic con every year and I dress up. Speaker: One. I go ghost hunting when I’m drunk. Speaker: Two. I have a degree from SDSU. Speaker: Three. I recently performed at The Grand Horton Theatre in a play. Speaker: Four. And I have a dog named Jake. Speaker: Five. These are five things. If I know people, I’ll perform. But if I don’t know people, I’m kind of a introvert or a recluse. I don’t really talk. So this has helped me just open up and become someone different and just learn something new about myself. Each step you learn something new about yourself and you just learn to fail and that’s like the best part about it. You got to have thick skin in life and again, like rejection happens, but it’s not the worst thing because that’s how you learn and get better. And improv’s taught me to just like take risks and fail and see how I can fix it and sharpen the edges and get better at it. If you joined Finest City Improv, you’re going to get a whole lot of new friends, a whole new take on life and just a lot of laughter and just everything will seem a lot easier. And just less stressful. My improv motto is be original, take risks and look good doing it.
