Visiting Artists

Since our inception, one of our goals has been to bring talented and experienced improvisers from other cities, particularly Los Angeles, to teach at FCI every single month.
Why spend 6-7 hours in a car to go to LA to take a class when we can bring our favorite instructors to San Diego!?

Check out all these amazing instructors that have taught at FCI since 2012 as part of our Visiting Artist program.

Dedicated to continual growth, we invite master instructors from near and far to teach intensives and in-depth workshops. Most workshops are 3 or more hours and some are even 2-day intensives. We offer housing, usually at the attached Lafayette Hotel, invite you to play in a show with one of our teams (or bring yours!), and provide standard instructor pay. If you have been performing and teaching improv for more than five years and have a record of success teaching at theaters and/or festivals submit your interest to us! Artists are generally booked 5-7 months in advance. We invite at at least one per month but spots still fill up fast!
