Page came to us in September of 2014. With a smile on her face, she quickly became known around FCI for seeing shows almost every night and becoming fast friends with her fellow students.

We have seen a huge change in Page since we first met her. One of my favorite moments with her was at the 2016 San Diego Improv Festival, in a workshop with Susan Messing. She made Susan laugh so hard with her truthful style and say anything ways.

That is why we are proud to shine the student spotlight on the one and only, Page!

In Her Own Words

Hi. I’m Page Carmen, and I am an Improvice now. I used to be a special ed paraeducator.

Speaker: What are your Five Things?

1. Spontaneous.
2. Being impulsive.
3. Being Happy
4. Being Productive
5. Laughter

I was fairly introverted. I didn’t go out much. I didn’t do anything for fun, and now I’m at almost all the shows, almost all the time. I feel more comfortable. I feel more happy with life. I feel like I have a connection with the people at Improv.

I looked at this poster. I found the poster and I put it on my wall. It says one of the things you’ll get is trust, confidence, three other things. I don’t recall. But I trusted that. I really did. I said, “Well, if that’s what they’re offering, that’s what I’m going to get and that’s what I need.” So there I was.

I aim to teach. Not yet, I’m new at this. But down the line, I’d like to teach and I’d like to coach, because that’s where the learning happens, when you teach others.
